Win a years’ subscription to Pingdom
The good fellows over at WebAppers are running a competition to win a year’s subscription to a Pingdom Basic account. For those not in the know, Pingdom lets monitors the availability of your website and emails or texts you when there is a problem. The system gives you uptime reports, response time reports, email, text & twitter alerts, multiple check locations, error analysis and public and email reports. Very useful if you are running a public site and want to keep on top of it’s performance.

Award season is upon us
Winter is in full swing and ’tis the season for award ceremonies. This year’s Professional Adviser Awards are now open for votes. If you want to cast your vote for who you think offers the “best” in category simply cast your vote now.
I’m all for recognising best in class, but I do feel there’s little definition. One man’s “best” is another man’s recent experience. No-one defines “best” so you end up with random voting and outcomes. And don’t get me started on the “coincidence” of sponsors also happening to be in multiple categories for voting. Perhaps I’m being too cynical…
Anyway having taken away from the event with my cynicsm good look to all who take part.
